Goal was scored by Yago Cariello, who had just entered

Portimonense beat Estoril, by 0-1, this Saturday, April 15th, in a game of the 28th round of the Football League, played at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota. This is an important victory for the Algarve, who were in a dangerous position on the table and were facing a direct opponent.

The first half, which ended with a goalless draw, was marked by the good performance of the goalkeeper from the Algarve, the Japanese Nakamura, who, twice, prevented the goals of the Estorilians.

In a second half that was very poor in terms of goalscoring opportunities, in the 67th minute, Dani Figueira saved a shot from Portimonense Yony González.

Shortly afterwards, at 74', there was a free-kick in a promising area for Estoril, but João Marques' shot hit the side nets of the Algarve goal.

But Portimonense, by this time, were the ones trying the most to open the scoring. In the 78th minute, Yony González left for Yago Cariello and it was this reinforcement that, in the following minute, scored the first goal for the Algarve team: the first time he touched the ball, the striker scored, taking advantage of a free kick inside the area.

This victory ended a series of five games without a win for the Algarve, who, on the other hand, had not won away from home since November last year, when they beat Gil Vicente, in Barcelos, in the 12th round.

Portimonense remains in 14th place, with 30 points, now with five more than Estoril.
