Pinheiro e Rosa presents “The Watermark”

The initiative is part of the Bienal Cultura e Educação “Retrovisor – Uma História do Futuro”

The “A Marca da Água” project was presented last Thursday, March 30th, at Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa, in Faro.

As part of the Bienal Cultura e Educação “Retrovisor- Uma História do Futuro”, this is a collaborative project between three urban artists residing in the Algarve (Perigo Público, DJ Gijoe and Gat.uno) who, at the invitation of Teatro das Figuras, developed a set of Rhyme Laboratories and Stencil Workshops, at Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa, during the 2nd period.

The results culminated in a performative exhibition “Rimas Batidas e Stencil”, with students from different curriculum areas, which aimed to create a space for discussion and artistic reflection that explores different environments and textures.

«The exhibition, which will remain open until the 21st of April at the Teatro das Figuras, tells in a metaphorical way, from the liquid universe, the relationship that students have with the school and the way they look at an increasingly changing education system. increasingly out of step with their expectations», says Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa.

Created based on the work techniques of the visual artist Gat.uno, on the walls of the theater's foyer you can find not only the final works that portray the difference in positioning between those who teach and those who learn, but also the stencil matrices and the materials used throughout the training and creation process.

The soundtrack for the exhibition was also created by the students, with the guidance of Gijoe and Perigo Público, based on the experiences of the young people themselves.
