Algarve swimmer Miguel Nascimento reaches minimums for the Paris Olympics

The feat was achieved at the Portuguese Open, which took place at Piscina da Penteada, in Funchal

The Algarve swimmer Miguel Nascimento, who swims for Benfica, obtained this Sunday minimums for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Miguel Nacimento, born in Portimão, finished the first 50 meters of the first leg of the 4×100 freestyle relay with a time of 21,91 seconds, surpassing the Olympic qualifying mark which is set at 21,96.

The feat was achieved at the Portuguese Open, which took place last weekend at Piscina da Penteada, in Funchal.

Miguel Nacimento is now the third swimmer to guarantee his presence at the Paris Games, joining Diogo Ribeiro (Benfica athlete who qualified in the 50 and 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly) and Camila Rebelo (Louzan swimmer, qualified in the 200 breaststroke ).
