José Carlos Barros gives a reading workshop in Faro

“The Books Lead to the Books” is the name of the workshop

José Carlos Barros will give, on the 29th of March, 12th and 19th of April, always at 18 pm, a reading workshop at the Municipal Library of Faro.

“The Books Lead to the Books” is the name of the workshop.

«José Carlos Barros proposes a shared reading exercise, in three face-to-face sessions, based on his novel «The Invisible People» (LeYa Prize 2021)», says the Chamber of Deputies Faro.

Assuming that books always lead to other books and to a vast world with connections to other times and themes, characters and places, the «reading map» proposed by José Carlos Barros also includes a trip to “O Coração das Trevas ”, by Joseph Conrad, and “Torto Arado”, by Itamar Vieira Júnior.

José Carlos Barros (Boticas, 1963) has a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Évora. He lives and works in the Algarve, in Vila Nova de Cacela. He was director of the Natural Park of Ria Formosa and the Natural Reserve of Sapal de Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António. He is the author of several books of poetry and three novels. With the most recent (The Invisible People, April 2022) he received the 2021 LeYa Prize.
