GNR Territorial Command celebrated anniversary in São Brás de Alportel

The ceremony was attended by Secretary of State Isabel Oneto

São Brás de Alportel hosted, from the 27th to the 29th of January, the celebrations of the 14th anniversary of the Territorial Command of Faro of the Republican National Guard (GNR).

The commemorative program began on the 27th, with an exhibition of means and canine and equestrian demonstrations, held on the premises of the EB 2, 3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos School, at a time open to the participation of the entire population, which made known some of the valences of the GNR.

On the 28th, Saturday, the Igreja Matriz hosted the Thanksgiving Eucharist with military honors, which was followed by a concert by the GNR Chamber Orchestra, at the São Brás Cineteatro Jaime Pinto, which was opened by the São Paulo group Love Me Duo.

The Military Ceremony of the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR, chaired by Isabel Oneto, Secretary of State for Internal Administration, took place on the 29th, Sunday morning, on Avenida da Liberdade, in the presence of the General Commander of the National Republican Guard, Lieutenant General José Manuel Lopes dos Santos Correia and of the Commander of the Territorial Command of Faro Colonel Carlos Almeida, who were joined by many military and civil entities.

On the occasion, Isabel Oneto "praised the commitment and professionalism of all the soldiers in carrying out their daily mission and their ability to overcome difficulties, constituting an example of courage and determination".

The ceremony included the graduation and parade of different forces from the Territorial Command of Faro of the National Republican Guard, made up of soldiers from the infantry, cavalry, intervention, canotechnics, traffic and forest guards, also integrating a platoon from the Guardia Civil de Espanha.

The ceremony also included a moment dedicated to the imposition of decorations on soldiers from the Guard and Guardia Civil and a tribute to deceased soldiers.
