Conference series “Horizons of the Future” returns to Loulé to debate “Hunger and Poverty”

The cycle of conferences “Horizons of the Future” is back at the Salão Nobre of the Paços do Concelho, in Loulé, next Thursday, February 16, at 21:00, with the theme “Hunger and Poverty: Curing cancer with aspirin” . 

The theme will be addressed by Pedro Krupenski in a session presented by the director of Loulé Secondary School, Renata Afonso.

The lecturer joins this initiative to address a structural theme, which gains greater relevance in the current moment of crisis on a world scale, accentuated by all the environmental problems caused by climate change.

Pedro Krupenski has a degree in Law from the Catholic University of Portugal. He practiced law for a few years, later changing his career to the area of ​​Development Cooperation.

 

 

He worked for several years in the areas of health, education and sustainable development for different Portuguese and international non-governmental organizations and in different countries such as Mozambique and Timor-Leste. Back in Portugal, he assumed the executive direction of the Portuguese Platform of Non-Governmental Organizations for Development (NGDO) which was followed – with some other projects in between – the executive direction of Amnesty International – Portugal.

Years later, he took on the role of director of development at Oikos – Cooperação e Desenvolvimento, with which he also chaired the Portuguese Platform of NGDOs.

Currently, Pedro Krupenski is advisor to the board of directors of Fundação Oriente and, as a volunteer, member of the Board of Directors of the United Nations Association – Portugal and Ambassador of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
