20-year-old canoeist in difficulty rescued from the entrance to the Portimão bar

Boy did not require medical assistance

A young canoeist who was having difficulty in the water at the entrance to the Portimão bar was rescued by the ferry from the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station, this Saturday at the beginning of the evening.

The alert was given at 17:59, and help was sent to the scene.

«The canoeist, a 20-year-old young man, was rescued by the crew of the Salva-vidas Station and then transported to the pier of the Clube Naval de Portimão. Because he was physically well, the young man did not need medical assistance and left the place by his own means», according to the National Maritime Authority.
