The Municipal Historical Archive António Rosa Mendes, in Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA), will host this Friday, December 16, another session of the cycle “Archive between Stories”, at 18:00.
The theme of the session will be “Slavery in the south of the Iberian Peninsula: XNUMXth to XNUMXth centuries”.
The work, whose presentation is in charge of Professor Manuel Fernández Chaves, professor of Modern History at the University of Seville, is made up of investigations by various specialists from Spain and Portugal, including the Algarve historian Fernando Pessanha, who integrates the work with the study «The sale of Moorish/Berberisco slaves in Arenilha, at the mouth of the Guadiana (XNUMXth century)».
