Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra gives New Year concert in Portimão

The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra will give, on the 5th of January, a New Year's Concert, in the Great Auditorium of TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão. 

The show will begin at 19 pm and will be conducted by maestro Osvaldo Ferreira.

In addition to works by Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) and Josef Strauss 1827-1870, the concert lineup will pay special attention to the musical creativity of Johann Strauss II (1825-1899), with the interpretation of some of his most emblematic waltzes and polkas, examples of which are the pieces “Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka”, “Pizzicato-Polka”, “Kaiser-Walzer” (“Emperor Waltz”), “Unter Donner und Blitz” and “An der schönen blauen Donau” (“Danube Blue").

Admission to the concert is free, subject to prior collection of a ticket, which will be available from 3 January, between 13 pm and 00 pm, at the TEMPO ticket office.
