The charitable fundraising campaign “Give Change to Who Needs It”, promoted by Associação Dignitude, started this Monday, December 12th, with the aim of helping needy people to buy medicine.
As the name implies, the initiative invites the Portuguese to donate change for purchases made at pharmacies. The amount raised by the action will be fully applied in the acquisition of prescription drugs for needy families covered by the Program Oh ok: Drug Solidarity Network.
«For many people, medicines are the answer to a healthier and more quality life. The program Oh ok: guarantees access to medication for families in situations of economic need and greater social vulnerability. We can all help by participating in the Give Change to Those in Need Christmas Campaign», says Rosa Palma, Mayor of Silves.
"The program Oh ok: it has already helped more than 30.000 Portuguese people, demonstrating that when we unite we can transform destinies. For this reason, it is with great joy that the Pharmacies in the district of Faro Adherents to the Give Change to Who Needs Christmas Campaign joined Dignitude once again to support the most disadvantaged Portuguese», explains Márcio Marques, from Farmácia Cruz de Portugal.
Currently, the network Oh ok has eight reference entities in the district of Faro: Parish Council of Salir and Municipalities of Albufeira, Aljezur, Faro, Loulé, Monchique, Silves, Tavira.
In the district of Faro, Oh ok says it has already supported 1.597 beneficiaries to access prescribed medicines free of charge.
To help in another way, it is also possible to support this initiative through bank transfer to IBAN: PT50 0036 0000 9910 5914 8992 7 or by MB WAY 932 440 068.
The campaign ends on the 21st of December.
