Six drivers arrested for alcohol abuse during operation in Faro

Operation “Safe Night is Quiet Night” also targeted nightlife establishments

Six people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during an operation carried out by the PSP, in Faro, in the early hours of Sunday, October 30th.

On the same occasion, the PSP fined three people for drug use and detected “ten infractions in nightlife establishments, for crimes related to their activity”, which also gave rise to fines.

This was the result of the “Safe Night is Tranquil Night” operation, the objective of which was to monitor “night entertainment establishments and associated phenomena, such as the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors, compliance with schedules, consumption and trafficking of narcotics and incivilities”.

The initiative also had a 'road safety component', focused on the detection of 'drug driving and other offences' linked to vehicle driving.
