This Saturday, November 26, the Loulé Council inaugurated the leisure center installed at the headquarters of the Parish Council of São Sebastião.
The room where parish meetings take place is now open to the community and equipped with a library area, recreational games and furniture such as tables, chairs and sofas, providing a convivial environment.
In this new center, workshops and some lectures dedicated, for example, to safety, health or food will be held.
“We want people to live with each other. The path is made by walking and gradually we see what the customers want, whether they have membership or not», said Analídio Ponte, president of the Board.
«In a society of multitudes where people do not coexist, it is important that the public authorities take these initiatives that meet this enormous need», emphasized Vítor Aleixo, recalling a similar project of great success, the Cantinho da Amizade in Quarteira.
At the moment, the leisure center operates from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm, simultaneously with the services of the Board, but, in the future, opening hours may be extended.
