“A Terra Treme” in Albufeira and alerts residents to seismic risk

“A Terra Treme” goes to schools this Wednesday

The Câmara de Albufeira once again associates itself with the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) and, with the aim of making citizens aware of the seismic risk from the youngest ages, takes “A Terra Treme” to the Agrupamento de Escolas de Albufeira. Albufeira this Wednesday, November 9, at 11:09 am. 

The action, which is now in its 10th edition, includes lectures, viewing of a film and an evacuation exercise, which also serves to test evacuation procedures.

The exercise comprises that, for one minute, the participants, individually or collectively (families, schools, companies, public or private institutions or associations) must perform the “3 gestures that save” (download, protect and wait), in a national journey that aims to unite efforts and enhance synergies, in order to achieve ever greater degrees of resilience.

By joining the initiative, the Municipality of Albufeira invites the population to participate in “A Terra Treme”, for which registration can be made. here

José Carlos Rolo, mayor, warns that Albufeira is a territory particularly sensitive to seismic risk, «hence the
relevance of carrying out this type of action, aimed at the population in general and the educational community in particular».

The mayor also takes the opportunity to highlight the importance of the work carried out by the SMPC, both in terms of raising awareness and protecting populations.
