CCDR Algarve is already a partner of the EuSouDigital program

EuSouDigital Program is aimed at all Portuguese people who have never used the internet, in particular adults over 45 years old who wish to acquire basic digital skills essential to their daily lives

The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) signed the collaboration protocol with the MUDA Program, becoming a Partner Entity of the Adult Digital Training Program I AmDigital, at a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister António Costa, which took place at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, during the National Forum of Digital Skills – #tratarodigitalportu. 

At the signing of the collaboration protocol, CCDR Algarve was represented by its vice-president Elsa Cordeiro and undertook to develop efforts with a view to carrying out initiatives that allow the achievement of the objectives set out in the EuSouDigital Program, namely to encourage partnerships between municipalities, parishes and associations in the region and A2D Consulting (as the executing entity of MUDA) for the implementation of a wide network of Centers I AmDigital.

 

 

Although more than 80% of the Portuguese population is already online, around 16% of Portuguese have never used the internet, when the European average is well below 10.

«Portugal will be a more productive, more advanced and more inclusive country if, together, we manage to increase the conditions and advantages provided by the digital services provided by companies and the State», highlights CCDR Algarve.

 

 

O EuSouDigital Program is aimed at all Portuguese people who have never used the internet, in particular adults over 45 years old who wish to acquire basic digital skills essential to their daily lives, allowing a better adaptation to the new realities of employment that depend on internet access, combating isolation through digital communication tools and how to learn to use email and other communication tools, search the internet and use social networks, as well as the essentials of using the internet safely.

The signatories of the protocol, recognizing the importance of increasing digital inclusion in Portugal in the coming years, embody the will and the union of efforts, as well as the sharing of a vision of an evolved society, based on an active, inclusive and participatory citizenship, jointly assumed the commitment to encourage the participation of the Portuguese in the digital space and help to take advantage of the benefits associated with digital services, provided by companies and the State, also committing to promote the digital empowerment of hundreds of thousands of adults in Portugal until the end of 2023.
