Algarve had an occupancy rate of 79,7% in September

The number exceeds the 65,1% of last year, but was below the 87% of 2019, the last year before the pandemic.

The occupancy rate, per room, was 79,7% in September, according to data released by AHETA – Associação dos Hotéis e Empreendimentos Turísticos do Algarve. 

The number exceeds the 65,1% of last year, but was below the 87% of 2019, the last year before the pandemic.

Compared to the same month of 2019, the national market (+1,4 percentage points – pp) and the Irish market (+0,8pp) were the ones that most opposed the decline observed.

The German market (-3,5pp), the French (-1,3pp) and the Dutch (-1,0pp) were the ones that showed the greatest declines.

Sales volume increased by 13,7% compared to the same month of 2019.
