National Inline Freestyle Skating Championship is held in Albufeira

Competition is organized by the Portuguese Skating Federation

The 1st National Inline Freestyle Skating Championship will be held this weekend, 8th and 9th of October, at the Sports Pavilion of Olhos de Água, in Albufeira. 

The competition started at 10:00 am with the School Sports tests in Roller Cross. Other Roller Cross, Jump and Drift events follow. On Sunday, after the reception of the participants, the Speed ​​Slalom, Batlle Slalom and Classic Slalom events take place at 10:00 am.

The closing ceremony and the delivery of medals will take place on the last day of the event, at 17:00. Paula Ferreira, coordinator of the Technical Committee “Desportivo de Inline Freestyle da FPP – Federação Portuguesa de Patinagem”, emphasizes that “after a set of three stages of dynamization and demonstration throughout the country, and the practical training of judges, we now organize the 1st National Championship».

«The race will count on the presence of some Spanish teams and will continue with the monitoring of the Spanish Committee of Inline Freestyle», he adds.

José Carlos Rolo, mayor, is pleased to see that the Municipality continues to be the chosen stage for these sporting events, «mainly following the Municipality's candidacy for European City of Sport 2026».

For his part, the vice-president and responsible for the Sports and Youth department, Cristiano Cabrita, sees this initiative as a «great attraction for the youth population of the municipality, and this championship is the continuation of a thorough policy that the Municipality is carrying out, in order to make Albufeira's youth more participatory, more active and more self-fulfilled in this municipality».

The competition, organized by the Portuguese Skating Federation in collaboration with the Municipality of Albufeira, will feature Urban Freestyle events: Slides, Salto and Roller Cross, as well as Slalom Freestyle events, such as Speed, Battle and Classic.
