University of Algarve launches “UAlg Researcher Award”

The distinction will be presented in December, of each calendar year, at the University Day public ceremony

The University of Algarve created the “UAlg Investigator Award”, worth 5 thousand euros, with applications opening on the 15th of September. 

To apply, you must have a legal-employment relationship with UAlg, as a teacher or researcher for at least three uninterrupted years, as of December 31 of the year prior to the competition. All information and established requirements should be consulted here.

Applications run from the 19th of September to the 20th of October and are exclusively formalized in an online form (available from the 19th).

The jury for the 2022 edition is composed of Raquel Vilaça, professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Coimbra, Adelino Canário, professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology and director of the Center for Marine Sciences, University of Algarve, Isabel Palmeirim, professor Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Algarve, Isabel Dias, coordinating researcher at the Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies, University of Lisbon, and Luis Azevedo Rodrigues, director of the Live Science Center in Lagos.

According to UAlg, «this award aims, mainly, to encourage the participation of UAlg professors and researchers in projects and in the internationalization of the Institution, with effective impacts on scientific productivity and in the affirmation of the excellence of the University of Algarve, as an Institution that integrates the System National Scientific and Technological
