Plane with 181 people on board makes an emergency landing at Faro

Landing took place “in complete safety”

A Boeing 738 "with 181 people on board" was forced to land in an emergency at Faro, this Sunday afternoon. The situation led to the usual mobilization of resources, but the landing took place "in complete safety", he revealed to the Sul Informação the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.

“We received a red alert at 17:39 for an aircraft that was in difficulties and needed an emergency landing at Faro. We mobilized the means to the place, but the landing ended up happening in complete safety», revealed the same entity.

According to flightradar website, the aircraft in question was a Boeing of the company Transavia which came from Rotterdam.

The same source was not able, even so, to explain the reason that led to the emergency landing, but, according to our newspaper, it may have been connected with the depressurization of the cabin.

The pre-positioning of means is, moreover, “usual in this type of situation”.

Twenty-five workers were sent to the site, supported by 49 vehicles.

 

Note: Fixed the identification of the plane that landed in an emergency, which was not a Sunwing Airlines aircraft connecting Aberdeen, Scotland, and Tenerife, Spain.
