The Olhão Maritime Police seized, on the morning of this Sunday, 3 July, 13 packages of hashish, each weighing one kilo, which were inside a drum, next to the shore, on Culatra Island, in Faro.
The National Maritime Authority says that “following an alert received yesterday, at 20:00 pm, through a popular person, informing that he had seen a drum with packages inside on the island of Culatra, elements of the local Command were activated of the Olhão Maritime Police to carry out searches, and no suspicious material was found».
However, this morning, “searches were carried out again at the site, and the elements of the Maritime Police detected a drum with 13 packages of narcotics inside, each with about one kilo of hashish”.
The drug will be handed over to the Judiciary Police.
The local Command of the Maritime Police of Olhão took care of the occurrence, having informed the Central Criminal Investigation Unit of the Maritime Police.
