Lagos: Rui Veloso, Mariza, Gabriel o Pensador help Arte Doce to return «big»

This year, the party will have five days

Rui Veloso, Mariza, Gabriel o Pensador, Dillaz and Bárbara Bandeira are the names that will “sweeten” the musical lineup of yet another Art Contest Fair, which will take place between the 27th and 31st of July at the Lagos Sports Complex.

This event is back with its sweet delicacies and snacks, but also with music and entertainment, after two years of suspension due to the pandemic.

This interregnum led the Lagos Chamber, which organizes the party, to bet on «a big comeback».

«The event now takes place over five days, having also increased the space surrounding the venue to accommodate more participants. In addition to the regional sweets, which are kept inside the pavilion, the outside will feature handicrafts, taverns and other food products, in a total of around 113 participants”, according to the municipality.

This year, the theme of the event is the centenary of the arrival of the train to Lagos, which will be celebrated with various activities between the 29th and 30th of July.

In order to strengthen the links between the various traditions of the country, the region of Estremadura was invited, which will be present in the form of artists, sweets and crafts.

The fair will have two stages. Rui Veloso, Gabriel o Pensador, Dillaz, Bárbara Bandeira and Mariza, the headliners, will act in the main event.

On the secondary stage, local artists will perform, namely the Banda da Sociedade Filarmónica Lacobrigense 1.º de Maio, Rancho Folclórico e Etnográfico de Odiáxere, Daddy Jack Band, Paulo Ribeiro, DJ Manu, Time for T, Ana Marques, Ana Valentim, Vítor do Carmo, José Santana and Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos, but also from Estremadura, more precisely the Orquestra de Foles, Sons da Terra, Alma Menor and Rancho Velha Guarda from the Folklore of Nazaré.

«For those who want to learn (and taste!) more about sweets and gastronomy, the daily showcookings are a must: fine sweets, flavors from Estremadura, conventual sweets from Alcobaça, flavors from the Bay of Lagos and cuisine with chef Louis Anjos (Michelin Star ) are the various options available», concluded the Câmara de Lagos.
