70 athletes participated this Sunday, July 10, in the 2nd Race of the Parish of Castro Marim that started in Junqueira and ended in the village that is the county seat.
Despite the competitive level, the athletics event «had the purpose of socializing, having fun and entertaining all the participants», says the Câmara de Castro Marim.
On the podium of the competition were athletes Nuno Correia (1st place, Clube Desportivo Areias de São João), António Alfarrobinha (2nd place, Associação Cultural Sambrasense) and Celso Brito (3rd place, Associação Cultural Sambrasense).
As for teams, the 1st place was taken by Associação Cultural Sambrasense, followed by Clube Desportivo Areias de São João and Clube Recreativo Alturense.
The prize giving was attended by João Pereira, councilor for sporting events in the Municipality of Castro Marim, and Nuno Emídio, president of the Castro Marim Parish Council.
The 2nd Race in the Parish of Castro Marim also had the support of Clube Junqueira, the starting point of the race, the Municipality of Castro Marim, Associação Rodactiva, Campesino Recreativo F. Clube and the Culture and Sports Center of the City Council by Castro Marim.
