The municipality of Lagoa will host this weekend the Final Phase of the Women's Sub16 National Basketball Championship, between the 3rd and 5th of June.
The Centro Recreativo e Cultural da Quinta dos Lombos, Maia Basket Clube, the CPN and the Sociedade de Instrução Musical e Escolar Cruz Quebradense (SIMECQ) are the teams that will compete for the national title, with the start of the competition scheduled for 19:30 Friday.
«It is with great pride that we see Lagoa being, once again, the stage of a great national competition. It is part of our sports strategy to host major events as a way of stimulating the local economy through sport”, says Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa.
This is an event organized by the Municipality of Lagoa and the Portuguese Basketball Federation, the Algarve Basketball Association and the Ferragudo Cultural and Sports Association.
