Portugal de Lés-a-Lés receives Ruta Internacional award

In 2022, the event will take place from the 9th to the 12th of June

Portugal de Lés-a-Lés, a motorcycle tourism event organized by the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, received the Ruta Internacional award at the Gala Turismo en Moto, which took place this Saturday in Madrid.

The federation and Portugal de Lés-a-Lés were distinguished by the 150 experts who make up the panel of judges of the Mototurismo Awards.

The event of its kind that mobilizes the largest number of participants around the world received the Ruta Internacional award, beating finalists such as Transpirenaica (Spain/France/Andorra), Rodando Rutas Mágicas (Mexico), Tibet Easy Rider (Tibet) or the International Meeting Christ the Redeemer (in the Chilean and Argentine Andes).

The award, delivered by Luis Figari, delegate of the FIM Latin America, to José Garcia, member of the FMP Mototourism Commission, «represents the recognition of the FMP's organizational capacity and the work of promoting motorcycle tourism values ​​in Portugal», highlights the press office of Portugal de Lés-a-Lés.

The organization Prêmios Mototurismo distinguishes people and entities that have distinguished themselves in carrying out and supporting trips or tourist activities on motorcycles and the initial list included hundreds of tours and personalities, events and initiatives, brands and technological innovations, communication and travelers in a total of 11 categories.

Portugal de Lés-a-Lés stood out from a group of 18 events held on five continents, «confirming the international protagonism of walking that, since 1999, unites two opposite points of the national map».

In 2022, Portugal de Lés-a-Lés will take place from the 9th to the 12th of June, connecting Faro to Bragança, with a stop in Castelo de Vide and Covilhã.
