Meet this year's Baja de Loulé winners

Baja de Loulé 2022 was organized by the Clube Automóvel do Algarve

Tiago Reis/Valter Cardoso (Autos), Micael Simão (Motorcycles), João Vale (Quads) and Roberto Borrego/Nuno Abrantes (SSV). These were the winners of Baja de Loulé that took place this weekend, 28th and 29th of May.

Yesterday, Sunday, the last day of the race, the four categories in dispute left early in the morning to carry out the selective sector of 159 kilometers with departure and arrival next to the Cortelha motocross track.

The first to leave were the competitors linked to the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation. Among the bikes, Micael Simão managed to keep the lead despite constant pressure from Martim Ventura, achieving the feat of triumphing in his first participation in Baja de Loulé, with the podium being closed by Gustavo Gaudêncio.

In quads, João Vale led almost from head to toe, ahead of Fernando Cardoso and Tiago Teixeira.

Finally, in SSV, there was a big fight, with Roberto Borrego/Nuno Abrantes managing to overcome Gonçalo Guerreiro after a selective sector completely on the attack, with Luís Cidade/Pedro Mendonça closing the podium.

In automobiles, there was a big fight between Tiago Reis, João Ferreira and Pedro Carvalho for the lead, with the young Mini driver taking the virtual lead during much of the selective sector, only to have two holes in the rear wheels in the final part allowing Tiago Reis /Valter Cardoso achieve his first triumph on Algarve soil.

Baja de Loulé 2022 was organized by Clube Automóvel do Algarve, under the aegis of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation with the support of the municipalities of Loulé, Tavira and Alcoutim and active collaboration of the Parish Councils of Salir, Ameixial, Martim Longo and Cachopo and also the partner Medronhito do Caldeirão.
