The first handball tournament Cidade de Tavira Hélder Leal starts this Tuesday, April 12, and runs until Thursday, April 14, at the municipal pavilion Dr. Eduardo Mansinho.
This is an event organized by the Algarve Handball Association, which has the support of the Municipality of Tavira, and which brings together regional, national and Spanish teams. In this event, Tavira will be represented by athletes who will participate in the Algarve national teams and also by the home team, the Men's Under 18 team of Clube de Vela de Tavira.
The tournaments return to the city of Tavira after a few years of interregnum. The Setúbal U15 Women's National Team, the Santarém Sub15 Women's National Team, the Porto Sub15 Women's National Team, the Algarve Sub16 Men's Team, the Porto Sub16 Men's Team, the Huelva Sub16 Men's Team and the Tavira Sailing Club - Men's Sub Team will participate in this event. 18.
The tournament will also mark the tribute to Prof. Hélder Leal, «a person who gave so much to sport, at various levels».
