Portimonense, who guaranteed, in the last round, the maintenance in the Primeira Liga, lost, this Sunday, by 1-0, in the trip to Arouca's ground. David Simão, in the 50th minute, scored the only goal of the game.

Arouca, who is still struggling in the fight for maintenance, entered the game more dangerous and, after 6 minutes, André Silva forced Payam to intervene in the game.

In the 9th minute, Payam was again in the spotlight. The Iranian goalkeeper denied Alan Ruiz the goal first and, in the rebound, André Silva.

The home team was looking for the goal with more objectivity but only in the 39th minute, with a set piece, did it create real danger again. Alan Ruiz hit a free-kick and the Portimonense goalkeeper “flew” and saved for a corner.

The best opportunity for the Algarve came in added time, in a counterattack, with a numerical advantage, but Angulo's pass, for Luquinha's amendment, came out crooked.

In the 50th minute, came the only goal of the game. David Simão, isolated by Alan Ruiz, shot low, between Payam's legs, and made it 1-0.

Portimonense tried to react and, at 73′, the only reason they didn't equalize was because Victor Braga, with a great defense, avoided Welinton Junior's goal.

Two minutes later, the Arouca goalkeeper showed service again, when he saved a strong shot from Carlinhos.

Until the end, despite the Algarve pressing, the best chance was for the home team, in the 83rd minute, when Pité, with his left foot, made the ball hit the crossbar of Payam's goal.

Portimonense maintains 35 points and is currently in 11th place, although they can still be overtaken by Boavista and equaled by Vizela.
