João Fernandes and Patricia Serafim win 6th Água de Faro

Event, organized by FAGAR, Municipality of Faro and Algarve Athletics Association, returned to the road this year

João Fernandes and Patrícia Serafim won the 6th Água de Faro, played this Saturday, April 2, in the Algarve capital. 

João Fernandes finished the race with 1 hour, 10 minutes and 14 seconds.

The athlete from Casa do Benfica de Faro was the fastest to complete the 21 kilometers between the beach of Faro and the goal located in the Manuel Bivar garden.

Daniel Martins, from Clube Desportivo Areias de São João, and Fernando Silva, from Associação Cultural Sambrasense, completed the podium.

 

 

In the women's event, Patricia Serafim was the big winner, with a time of 1 hour, 25 minutes and 49 seconds.

The runner of Clube Desportivo Areias de São João got a big victory leaving her teammate, Carina Correia, more than ten minutes away. Filomena Sabino, from Associação Cultural Sambrasense, completed the podium.

The event, organized by FAGAR, Municipality of Faro and Associação de Atletismo do Algarve, returned to the road this year, having exhausted all available entries.

Along with the “queen race”, the Half Marathon, the Mini Marathon was also held.
