Daniel Jesus and Tomás Góis, students at the University of Algarve, won, respectively, a gold and a bronze medal in the National University Judo Championship, which took place on April 2 at the Portugal Cultura e Recreio Pavilion, in Seixal.
Daniel Jesus won the gold medal, becoming National University Champion in the -60 kg category. Tomás Góis won the Bronze medal in the -73 Kg category.
In addition to the two medal winners, the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg) was represented at this event by three more student-athletes.
Athlete Maria Sena reached 4th place in the -57 Kg category, while João Homem and Isabelle Macedo were unable to qualify for the decisive phase of their categories.
Divided into 12 categories, around 80 student-athletes participated in this championship.
