A clarification session on “non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease” will take place on the 25th of March, from 18:00, in the Auditorium of the Museum of Portimão.
The initiative is aimed at people with Parkinson's, family members, caregivers, health professionals and the general public.
The moderator will be the neurologist Edmeia Monteiro and, as speaker, Rita Simões, a doctor in the same specialty.
Parkinson's disease is neurological, being chronic, with a slow and progressive evolution, in which the chemical messengers produced by the brain, responsible for the control of movements, are lost. Hence, it is classified among the so-called “movement diseases”.
This initiative, organized by the Western Algarve Regional Delegation of the Portuguese Association of Parkinson's Patients, has the support of the Portimão City Council, the Museum and Zambon.
