Vila do Bispo Municipal Assembly creates four Standing Committees

It is a first in the municipal life of Vila do Bispo

The Municipal Assembly of Vila do Bispo approved the creation of four Permanent Municipal Commissions, as well as the respective regulation, for the first time in that municipality.

In a press release, Luciano Rafael, president of AM vilabispense, points out that this body, since its inauguration, “has already taken several measures, including changing the schedule of sessions, decentralization by towns and villages in the municipality , online broadcasting, live, through digital platforms, and presence on social networks, in order to encourage greater civic participation of citizens in the work of this municipal body».

In its most recent Ordinary Session, on February 25, it resolved to approve four Permanent Municipal Commissions:

I. PERMANENT MUNICIPAL COMMISSION on Finance, Heritage, Human Resources and Decentralization of Competences, between the Central Administration and the Municipality or between the Municipality and the Parishes.

II. PERMANENT MUNICIPAL COMMISSION on Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Rehabilitation and Municipal Works, Basic Infrastructure, Road Network, Mobility and Security

III. PERMANENT MUNICIPAL COMMISSION on Economy, Tourism, Innovation, Internationalization, Environmental Sustainability, Climate Action

IV. PERMANENT MUNICIPAL COMMISSION on Housing, Social Rights and Citizenship, Health, Culture, Education, Youth and Sports

The objective of this «change in the functioning paradigm of this municipal body is to remove it from the role of mere spectator and make it more interventionist, fully assuming its competences, closer to the citizens and with the necessary tools to be able to deliberate with knowledge» , adds Luciano Rafael.

Thus, the Municipal Permanent Commissions aim, within the scope of the powers of supervision and monitoring of municipal management, as well as the approval of various matters by the Municipal Assembly, "to enable the body to exercise these same powers in a faster and more effective way, It also allows supporting the municipal executive in matters within the competence of the Central Administration with an impact on the municipal territory and on the well-being of its population».
