a show of standup comedy, puppets and workshops. This is how Albufeira will celebrate the World Theater Day, which is celebrated on March 27th.
The program starts on Friday, the 25th with the show “Marias full of grace”, with Joana Neves, Carolina Pinto, Cláudia Rosa, Fernanda Antunes, Catarina Dores and Liliana Marques.
This show intends to give voice to women in the stand-up comedy, an artistic area often ruled by male names. The comedians, through their varied styles, postures, visions and jokes, will give stage to the female presence in comedy. It will be at 21:30 pm, with free entry subject to the capacity of the room and is for an audience over 16 years old.
The next day, Saturday, at the same time and under the same conditions, we have “Paper Wings” (M/6) by the company of Faro, JAT – Open Window Theater. A book will be opened in this wordless show, which tells the story of a mother and daughter who, absorbed by the daily rhythm of modern daily life, end up moving away from each other.
On World Theater Day, at 11:30 am, Mãozorra – Teatro de Marionetas, brings us “O Barbeiro” (M/3). This tradition of popular Portuguese marionettes with more than 300 years, continues to enchant and delight kids and adults with its comic-satirical narrative.
These three shows are free, subject to the capacity of the room, but you need to collect the ticket, to be held at the Municipal Auditorium of Albufeira, on the day of the show (25th and 26th of March: 20:30, at 21:15, and on the 27th: 10:30 am at 11:15 am).
In addition to the shows, there will be two workshops on the 27th: one at 10:00 am in the Pavilhão Desportivo de Albufeira for “Contemporary Mimo” by JAT – Janela Aberta Teatro, for people over 12 years of age and for a maximum of 20 participants.
At 14:00 pm, the workshop on “Construction of traditional puppets” by João Mãozorra will take place in the Municipal Auditorium.
