The public consultation period for the Supraconcelhio do Algarve Social Development Plan 2022-2027, which covers areas ranging from housing to social facilities, started today, the 22nd, and will run until the 18th of March.
The document can be consulted on the website of AMAL – Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve, responsible for drawing up the plan.
Those who wish can «send suggestions, by email, on any topics considered relevant within the scope of this project».
This «strategic document for the region» and the options taken in it are based on a survey of the Algarve's needs, called Social Diagnosis Supraconcelhio, «which focused on very different areas: unemployment, housing, health, demography, social facilities for the elderly, children and young people, social vulnerability and poverty, among others».
«After the diagnosis was completed, this plan was outlined, which seeks to respond to the region's social concerns and needs, but which does not overlap with the social intervention already underway in the municipalities. It does allow, however, to introduce a perspective and a regional dimension in certain areas of approach, until now, eminently municipalities, favoring the exchange of experiences and the dissemination of good practices in progress in the municipalities», explained AMAL.
The Algarve Intermunicipal Community carried out the plan in partnership with the District Center for Social Security of Faro. The document also counted on the participation of the Regional Delegation of the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training; the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve; from the Directorate-General for School Establishments – Directorate of Services for the Algarve Region, «as well as other entities that participated in the various thematic sessions that took place to implement this Plan».
“When the Public Consultation period is over, the contributions to the preliminary version of the Supraconcelhio do Algarve Social Development Plan 2022-2027 will be analyzed and the final version of the document will then be publicly presented, on a date to be defined in due course”, concludes the same entity.
