António Manuel Ribeiro concert and fado gala raise funds to help João Pedro

A solidarity concert with António Manuel Ribeiro, former vocalist of the UHF, and a fado gala with fado singers and musicians from the Algarve, taking place at the António Aleixo Cultural Center, in VRSA, will raise funds to help João Pedro, the 25-year-old natural from Monte Gordo who suffered serious sequelae after being attacked outside a bar in Ayamonte, Spain, last November.

At the moment, João Pedro, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and an ischemic stroke, is “in a state of minimal consciousness” and “needs help to carry out treatments and continue the recovery process, whose history can be consulted on the official page of the cause», according to the Vila Real de Santo António City Council.

On the 19th of February, a Saturday, at 21 pm, the fado gala “Por ti, João Salvador” will take place, an event «organized by several fadistas and musicians from the Algarve who, from the very beginning, joined the cause».

On stage will be the fado singers Nádia Catarro, Luís Manhita, Isa de Brito and Luís Saturnino, who will be accompanied by the musicians Gonçalo Rosa (Portuguese guitar), Aníbal Vinhas (Fado guitar), André Ramos (Fado guitar) and Gonçalo Cercas (Fado guitar). low).

On February 26, also a Saturday, at 21 pm, António Manuel Ribeiro, musician, singer, poet and leader of the Portuguese rock band UHF, will perform «an intimate and supportive concert». The first part of the show features the participation of the Vila Realense group Os Intencionais.

Tickets for both shows are on sale at the António Aleixo Cultural Center and the box office proceeds will go entirely to the cause.
