The Alcoutim Chamber will support the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters with 238 thousand euros, after a collaboration protocol signed this Thursday, February 17th.
Under the terms of the agreement, "it is guaranteed to continue, in accordance with the command possibilities, the attributions listed in the legislation in force, namely, fire fighting, assistance to populations in the event of public disasters and in all accidents, assistance to shipwrecked people, the injured and the sick, protection against fire, collaboration in civil protection activities, participation in prevention and safety actions and also the issuance of technical opinions», says the Alcoutim Chamber.
The protocol also guarantees, within the scope of the Special Forest Fire Fighting Device (DECIF), and during the Charlie Phase, the Pre-Positioning of a Forest Fire Fighting Team (ECIN) in Vaqueiros.
According to Osvaldo Gonçalves, mayor of Alcoutim, «this protocol is the result of the need to safeguard the interests of the population, ensuring continuity in the provision of social care and assistance in the municipality».
