To promote the work of six bands from the Algarve, through the recording of originals and a series of concerts, in Faro, Portimão and Loulé. This is the mission of “Record Music Algarve”, a collection that comes as part of a project with the same name.
The initiative, promoted by Margem Produção e Eventos, with the co-financing of Garantia Cultura, CRESC Algarve 2020 and COMPETE 2020, has as its main objective «the capture and registration, dissemination and promotion of originals by Algarve musical bands», explains Joel Mestre , promoter of the initiative, to the Sul Informação.
After selecting the six Algarve bands – Osmose, Mauro Amaral, The Elephant Woman, GIGGY, 2143 and Fuza Flowz – «two original songs by each group were recorded in the studio for the creation of the compilation entitled “Record Music Algarve”».
«We want to make the work of the Algarve bands known to the public. After listening to several groups in the region, we were only able to select six of them, but there are many more that deserve to be known», highlights Joel Mestre.
In total, the recorded collection will feature 12 original songs and will be “offered on a pen to every spectator who goes to see the concerts”.
The first concert will take place at Associação Recreativa e Cutural de Músicos, in Faro, on the 4th of February, with a performance by Mauro Amaral, at 22 pm, and by “The Elephant Woman”, at 00 pm.
On the 11th of February, the Portimão Museum auditorium will host two more concerts of the project, with the performance of “Osmose”, at 21:30 pm, and 2143, at 22:30 pm.
At the end of the “Record Music Algarve” concert cycle, the emblematic Bafo de Baco, in Loulé, hosts, on February 18, the last two concerts, by GIGGY, at 22 pm, and by Fuza Flowz, at 00 pm.
