Farense lost again, this time against Rio Ave and by 2-1, in a game counting for the 19th round of the II League championship, played today, Sunday, in Vila do Conde.

In a clash between teams recently relegated from the I Liga to the second tier of Portuguese football, the northerners got the better of and deepened the crisis of the Algarve, which remains in the last places of the league table.

The result was established in the first part of the game.

After 4 minutes, Pedro Mendes put the Vila Condenses ahead.

Farense managed to restore equality in the 29th minute, through Fabricio Isidoro, but the 1-1 would only last for a short time, as Rio Ave regained the lead in the 31st minute, with a goal from Yakubu.

With this defeat, the third in a row, Farense remains in 17th and antepenultimate position, with 14 points. The Algarve have two games less, but the same goes for the vast majority of the other “afflicted”.
