Fishing vessel crew member hit his head

A crew member of a fishing vessel, who suffered an accidental fall on board, hitting his head, while sailing about four miles (approximately seven kilometers) south of Portimão, was rescued this morning by elements of the Lifeguard Station. from Ferragudo.

The alert was received at about 02:10 am, through a family member of the crew member, and a vessel from the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station was immediately activated to the location, in coordination with the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Lisbon (MRCC Lisboa ).

Upon arrival at the fishing vessel, the elements of the Lifeguard Station rescued and transported the victim, who was in a conscious state, to the Ferragudo pier.

In this place, INEM elements were waiting, who assisted the victim and later transported her to a hospital unit.

The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
