The municipality of São Brás de Alportel announced this Friday, the 7th of January, that, through its environmental services, it has recently launched the initiative of sponsoring flower boxes in the São Brasense village.
This is an initiative that already has the participation of six godparents and allowed the placement of seven new flower boxes to harmonize and color the village.
This project allows "one or several residents who wish to have a flowerpot on their street to apply and take responsibility for its maintenance, taking care of watering, cleaning weeds and, if necessary, replacing plants", explains the municipality.
The City Council provides the land and flowers defined for the 10 planters available, in this first phase of the project, inviting «a partnership between the residents and the municipality, in favor of the care of the public space and the promotion of a pleasant environment».
