The Left Bloc delegation was composed of José Gusmão and candidates Sandra da Costa and João Varela

The Left Block visited this Tuesday, January 18th, APEXA (Association for the Support of the Exceptional Person of the Algarve) and defended the importance of creating more support structures and employment policies for people with disabilities.

APEXA's work currently covers eight municipalities, with structures in four of them.

One of the topics on the table during this visit was, then, «the issue of employment of people with disabilities», says BE.

“APEXA officials underlined the importance of complementing employment quota policies with better training for employers. This training is essential to achieve the full integration of people with disabilities in the workplace», says Bloco de Esquerda.

“Another of the issues under discussion was the importance of having a systematic policy for the inclusion of associations of people with disabilities in the decisions of public entities. The prior consultation of these organizations can help to avoid the constant mistakes that continue to be made unnecessarily, from accessibility to cultural and organizational barriers», conclude the blockers.
