As of this Thursday, December 23rd, the citizens of Portimão will have at their disposal two more free covid-19 testing points, namely on the city's riverside and at Portimão Arena, located in the Fairs and Exhibitions Park.
This is, according to the Portimão Chamber, a way of “strengthening preventive measures to combat the pandemic, to mitigate the risks potentially associated with this season”.
In the case of the riverside area of Portimão, the municipality will bear all the operating and logistical expenses inherent in carrying out free tests, which will be carried out by the local delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross.
In this sense, it will be enough for citizens to go to this testing point, located next to the Bandstand, and wait their turn on the following days and times: December 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30 – from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and between at 15:00 pm and 19:00 pm; 24th, 26th and 31st of December and 2nd of January – from 9 am to 00 pm.
In addition to this new point, and starting on the 24th of December, the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) will also carry out free tests to covid-19 inside Portimão Arena, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from 16:00 pm to 19:00 pm, in order to reinforce the testing capacity, at least, until the next January 9th.
