There is a lot of multimedia, music and dancing to see at Teatro das Figuras

Until Sunday

Music, multimedia and dance will be highlighted at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, until the end of this week, in three shows provided by Tiago Cadete, Nelson Conceição and Companhia de Dança do Algarve.

Tomorrow, December 14, at 15:00 pm (school session) and at 19:00 pm, the Gulliver project, by Tiago Cadete, responsible for the direction and for the video, will be presented, which occupies a central place in this show, which has Nuno Pinheiro and Leonor Cabral

«This Gulliver is a kind of VJ, an artificial intelligence that comes from the future and tells its story through the large archive of documents, images and sounds found on the internet about the interpretations of “Gulliver's Travels”», according to the Theater of the Figures.

The following day, Wednesday, December 15, the Algarve accordionist Nelson Conceição stars in the musical and multimedia show “Eis o Algarve”, included in the Bezaranha program.

In this concert, «Nelson Conceição's accordion takes us on a journey through the traditional arts of the Algarve people, in a show where dance, music, lighting and video make us immerse us in the cultural identity of the region, from its roots to the contemporary».

This will be, says Teatro das Figuras, «an opportunity to rediscover the Algarve, its people and cultural heritage. An audiovisual journey that will transport you to a past that prides and elevates, bringing to light ancestral memories dressed in modernity».

On the 18th and 19th, Saturday and Sunday, at 21 pm and 00 pm, respectively, the play “Coppélia” will take place, a show by the Algarve Dance Company that « tells the story of Swanilda and Franz, a passionate young couple who prepare to get married”

«In the village where they live there is the strange and mysterious Doctor Coppelius, an inventor who goes mad with the death of his daughter. He ends up building a ballerina doll, which he calls Coppélia, which he puts in the window every day. When Franz sees her, he is completely in love and thinks only of meeting the new girl in the village. Swanilda decides to enter Dr. Coppelius' house to find out what is going on in that mysterious house and who is the young woman who stole her beloved's heart», describes the Faro cultural space.

“Swanilda, pretends to be the doll to try to win back Franz's love. Chaos sets in, but is soon forgiven. Swanilda and Franz reconcile and marry, in a lively party, with various festive dances», he concludes.
