New image of the Eurocity of the Guadiana presented in Badajoz is a “Liquid Frontier”

Visitors to the stand at FEHISPOR were pleased with the new image

“A Fronteira Liquida”, the new brand of Eurocidade do Guadiana, has been presented since Thursday on a stand at FEHISPOR, the traditional Hispano-Portuguese fair, in Badajoz.

In the first two days of the Fair, Eurocity was represented by Francisco Amaral, current president and mayor of Castro Marim, by Ricardo Cipriano, councilor with the responsibility of Eurocity at the Vila Real de Santo António City Council and by members of the technical team.

During the weekend, the fair was aimed at the general public, mainly from Extremadura and Alentejo, «where the work of promoting the brand will attract potential visitors to the territory», highlights the Eurocity of Guadiana, which is made up of the municipalities of Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Ayamonte, in Spain.

The Eurocity of Guadiana is present at FEHISPOR with a 12-metre stand, «which stands out among the most attractive at the fair, becoming a meeting space that makes known for the first time the new joint tourist image of the territory», he praises the organism.

“The Liquid Frontier”, considers the Eurocity of Guadiana, “caused a pleasant sensation among the attendants, who mention it as evocative and descriptive of the territory. Therefore, although this is an initial phase of promotion and there is still a lot of work to be done in order to strengthen and promote it, the tests carried out at this fair reinforce the conviction that steps are being taken in the right direction».

This fair «becomes especially relevant for the Eurocity of Guadiana in the post-Covid period, where the proposal has many competitive advantages, offering a border destination of proximity, based on an offer of nature, heritage and experiences throughout the four seasons of the year. ».

In addition to promoting the destination, strategic political and institutional meetings were held with EUROBEC, the Eurocity that brings together Badajoz, Elvas and Campo Maior.

These meetings addressed, according to the Eurocity of Guadiana, «issues of governance, strategic planning, sharing of services and common problems related to obstacles that are permanently posed when working in a cross-border environment, as well as the ways that each executive found to overcome them».

At this meeting, «it was found that both entities, EUROBEC and Eurocidade do Guadiana, present a very similar situation, so successive technical meetings have sought to create synergies and strategies to share solutions and good practices that facilitate and enrich the challenging task of cross-border governance that both institutions carry out”, he concludes.
