“Reading with Mimos” presents “the book object” with dynamics for babies and children in Quarteira

The initiative “Leitura com Mimos”, presented by Rita Moriés, will take place this Saturday, November 6th, at the Quarteira center of the Municipal Library of Loulé, and is aimed at early childhood.

There will be time for two sessions, the first at 10:00 am, aimed at 12 babies from 6 to 18 months, and the second, at 11:00 am, open to 12 children from 18 to 36 months. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.

This initiative "intends to make the object of the book known, accompanied by dynamics and reading practices that awaken in each baby the desire to open it", learning simultaneously, parents and babies, that a book provides privileged moments of shared and interactive reading" , says the municipality of Loulé.

“Using books, images and objects, suitable for the public, the children's language skills are developed”, he explains.

Each session will last approximately 40 minutes, with limited spaces. Therefore, prior registration is required for [email protected].

Rita Moriés started her professional activity as a reading mediator in 2002, as an intern at the Beja Library. Post-graduated in Children's Books at the Catholic University of Lisbon, she worked in libraries, schools and in IPSS, promoting reading animation activities, helping to train new readers and foster reading habits.

In 2008 he joined the work team at the Municipal Library of Silves and currently works in a school and organizes reading animation sessions aimed at children and young people, as well as sessions for babies (0-36 months) in libraries or private institutions. social solidarity.

The passion for reading and the love for reading grew, with many secrets to reveal and full of dreams, having graduated in Sociocultural Animation.
