October in the Algarve has Clan and “Scenes of a married life”

there is a lot to choose

A concert by the Clã, the play “Scenes of a married life”, exhibitions and even an open-air festival. The Algarve has a lot to offer during the month of October.

Sagres is being, until Tuesday, the 5th, the stage for one of the biggest national events: the 12th Festival of Bird Watching & Nature Activities which aims to bring together families and nature lovers in an engaging experience close to the birds that fly over the Algarve's territory, through observation sessions on land and at sea and ringing sessions.

In terms of musical programming, the biggest highlight goes to the Clã concert, which takes place on October 26 at the Cultural Center – Duval Pestana Auditorium, in Lagos, scheduled to start at 21 pm.

The artists will take the opportunity to present their ninth album, “Véspera”, released in full confinement, which has been a success with the general public.

Already in Faro, it will be possible to watch the show “Carmen”, a renowned French opera in four acts written by the musician and composer George Bizet, taking place at Teatro das Figuras (on the 27th, at 21 pm).

The month of October also includes several options for those who like to occupy their free time with other artistic and cultural initiatives, such as theater, dance and painting.

The agenda includes the shows “The Death of a Traveling Salesman”, a play that portrays the United States of the 40s, at TEMPO – Municipal Theater of Portimão (9th September at 21 pm) and the Scenes of Married Life, which is scheduled for the Cineteatro Louletano (on the 30th, at 30 pm).

The Theater of Figures, in Faro, will also stage a dance show entitled “And Still We Move” BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts” (8th at 21:30 pm), a performance designed and interpreted by Joana Castro and Maurícia Barreira Neves based on a true story of love.

For those who appreciate works of art, there are also different options in various municipalities in the region. In Albufeira, the João Bailote Municipal Gallery presents the exhibition “IV Industrial Revolution”, by Aquilo Ferreira, an unavoidable name in contemporary Portuguese art (Monday to Friday from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm, until the 15th of October). In Lagos, the ceramic exhibition “A Brincar com o Fogo” by Adelaide Filipe is on display at the Cultural Center (Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm, until October 30th).

Film sessions, circus, gastronomic tours – as the 11th edition of Rota do Petisco, in the Algarve restaurants that are part of the initiative (which runs until 10 October) – and Reinos e Mundos, a contemporary circus that will fill Teatro das Figuras, in Faro (on the 6th, at 21 pm), are another of the many proposals in the “Guia Algarve”, the events agenda published monthly by the Algarve Tourism Region.

The guide is a bilingual publication (Portuguese and English), with a circulation of 35 thousand copies and free distribution in hotels, travel agencies, tourist offices, airport of Faro, rent-a-cars and golf courses in the region.
