The first edition of the women's Loulé Open will feature Portuguese representation in one of the finals, after Francisca Jorge and Matilde Jorge have qualified for the doubles decision of the $25.000 international competition organized by the Loulé Tennis Club for the first time. In the singles, the semi-finals cast is led by French Harmony Tan.

Side by side in tournaments on the international circuit for the fourth time, Francisca Jorge (21 years old) and Matilde Jorge (17 years old) ensured their presence in the final by defeating the first seeded players, Marina Bassols Ribera and Olga Parres Azcoitia, by 6-3 and 6-1.

This Friday's victory was the third of the week for the two sisters from Guimarães, who improved their result eight days ago in Lisbon (semi-finalists), and thus ensured their first presence in an international final as partners.

National champions of the variant in 2018 and 2019, Francisca Jorge and Matilde Jorge will discuss the title with the Greek Despina Papamichail and the Serbian Natalija Stevanovic, pre-designated runners-up who overcame Tina Cvetkovic and Pia Lovric by 6-1, 3-6 and 10 -8.

For Francisca Jorge, on the table is the possibility of winning the eighth international title of her career (and third of the year) in pairs, while Matilde Jorge will try, in the first final, to raise her first champion's trophy.

Currently in the best ranking of her career (119th WTA), the 24-year-old French tennis player overcame Serbia's Natalija Stevanovic (259th) by 6-3 and 6-4, in 2h04, to put herself one step away from competing for more a final on Portuguese soil, one month after becoming runner-up in the ITF for $60.000 + H in Caldas da Rainha.

In the semi-finals, Tan will face compatriot Chloe Paquet (171st WTA and third pre-designated), who was authoritarian and defeated Swiss Simona Waltert (262nd) 6-0 and 6-4.
