CHUA invited to expert panel of international event on health innovation

Technological, process and sustainability innovation in the healthcare sector will be debated at the Hotel Faro, this Friday, the 15th of October, the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA) will integrate the panel of international experts at the annual event of the Association of South Carolina Oncology Managers.

ASCOM 2021 will be themed “Facing the new challenges in Health and Healthcare” – loosely translated, “Facing the new challenges of health and healthcare delivery” – and will seek to answer the question “How can we make health and more sustainable health care in this post-pandemic era?”.

According to the organization, the «main challenges for health systems in the last two decades have been demographic pressure, the chronic nature of many diseases, access to increasingly expensive drugs, which are in conflict with the sustainability of the systems. long-term health care. Sustainability-oriented innovation involves improving operations and business processes to become more efficient, with the aim of reducing waste and improving the quality of patient service».

In this event “several invited speakers will share different perspectives on the new challenges they face in multiple contexts”.
