The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) is part of the provisional MotoGP calendar for 2020, revealed this Thursday, 7 October, the International Motorcycling Federation.

According to this schedule, the AIA will once again host MotoGP on April 24, 2022.

The return of the emblematic motorcycle race to the Algarve was already expected.

At the press conference to present this year's second race (November 5th to 7th), this scenario had been admitted by Carmelo Ezpeleta Peidro, general director of Dorna, which promotes the championship.

Thus, the 2022 race will be the fourth MotoGP race at the AIA. The first took place in 2020 (won by Miguel Oliveira) and the second took place this year (2021), having won Fabio Quartararo.

On the 7th of November this year, the “magic” of MotoGP is back, in a race that has the particularity of having an audience in the stands.
