Socialist Luís Encarnação was elected mayor of Lagoa, with 51,46% of the votes, thus guaranteeing five of the seven seats in the council.
The Lagoa Primeira Movement (MLP), led by former president Francisco Martins, obtained 18,01% of the votes and elected a councilor, while the PSD (12,17%) secured the fifth councilor.
The fourth most voted force for the Câmara de Lagoa was Chega (6,38%), followed by the Left Block (3,66%), the CDU (3,26%) and finally the Liberal Initiative (1,79% ).
For the Municipal Assembly, the PS also won, with 49,66%. In other words, José Águas da Cruz is virtually re-elected as president of AM Lagoense.
For AM, in second place, was the MLP (15,58%) and in third the PSD (14,89%).
The socialists also won all four parishes in the municipality of Lagoa.
