“Summer in Tavira” also has Pedro Burmester and Carlão

Concerts will take place at Palácio da Galeria Park, in Tavira

“Summer in Tavira” 2021 will receive this Wednesday, August 18th, the pianist Pedro Burmester and, on Saturday, the 21st, the singer Carlão will perform, both concerts at 22 pm, at Parque do Palácio da Galeria.

Born in Porto, Pedro Burmester «began giving concerts at the age of 10 and, since then, has performed more than a thousand solo performances, with an orchestra, and in various chamber music formations, both in Portugal and abroad», says the Tavira municipality in a note sent to the newsrooms.

He collaborated with conductors Manuel Ivo Cruz, Miguel Graça Moura, Álvaro Cassuto, Omri Hadari, Gabriel Chmura, Muhai Tang, Lothar Zagrosek, Michael Zilm, Frans Brüggen, Georg Solti, Leopold Hager, Baldur Brӧnnimann and Peter Rundel.

«He also dedicated himself to chamber music and has maintained, for some years, a duo with the pianist Mário Laginha, having already performed with the violinists Gerardo Ribeiro and Thomas Zehetmair, with the cellists Anner Bylsma and Paulo Gaio Lima and with the clarinetist António Saiote».

He formed a group of pianos and percussions that has been present at various festivals and concerts in Portugal, but his music is also heard internationally.

He was artistic and education director at Casa da Música, a project he helped create and implement. Currently, in addition to his artistic activity, he is a professor at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE), in Porto.

 

Carlao

 

Carlão, «one of the biggest names in urban music today», will present his album “Quarenta”, whose first album was single the success “Os Tais”, the ep “Na Batalha”, the original disc “Entertenimento“, which features the Singles “Agulha No Palheiro”, “Viver Pra Semper”, “Contigo” and “#demasia”, as well as the most recent singles “Bandida” and “Assobia para o Lado”.

The ex-vocalist of “Da Weasel” is accompanied, live, by Dj Glue, Bruno Ribeiro (vocals), Nuno Espírito Santo (bass), Paulo Borges (keyboards) and Rui Berton (drums).

The maximum capacity of the space was reduced in accordance with the norms of the General Directorate of Health, "so the high demand meant that tickets were sold out in a few hours", explains the municipality.

For free shows, tickets will be available the day before the performance. A maximum of two tickets are available per person.
