Three 12th grade students from Júlio Dantas Secondary School, in Lagos, were the winners of the “Business Ideas Contest”, an initiative integrated in the “Entrepreneurship in Schools – Lagos Entrepreneur” project, whose prizes were already presented at a ceremony at the Paços Auditorium of the Municipality XNUMXst Century.

The awarded students were Bernardo Garrido, Kris Eduardo Gonçalves and Soraia Ribeiro.

The “Entrepreneurship in Schools” project is an education program that arises from a partnership between the Municipality of Lagos, the University of Algarve (through CRIA, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division) and the Júlio Dantas Secondary School.

It intends to "contribute to the development of entrepreneurial skills in secondary school students in the municipality, also promoting them in the educational community (students and teachers) and actively involving parents in their children's academic path and in the organizational culture of the school".

The program lasted for three academic years (2018/2019 to 2020/2021) and followed about a hundred students from Escola Secundária Júlio Dantas throughout their academic path, from the 10th to the 12th year.

These students, from eight different courses, participated in a series of work sessions that allowed them to acquire knowledge and skills in the area of entrepreneurship and business management.

In the third and final year of the project, students were able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired through the development of a business idea that was then presented to a jury.
